Proposals

Navigation and Site Structure

The Navigation was analyzed and drawn into a chart. This provided groups of data that could be reorganized into logical sections. Pages with extensive amounts of data could now be broken into more manageable sizes. Content could be easier to find for the user and easier to maintain by the site manager.

Page Layout

Defining a page layout or set of page layouts for the site would help with consistency, and allow users to better recognize where to look for sought information. A basic Wireframe was proposed.

Branding

Focus on dance, community, a sense of the Middle East, and a touch of the feminine would be encompassed into the branding. The wave on the original title was important to the site owner as it conveyed dance. Terminology was discussed. It would be Belly Dancing, not Middle Eastern Dancing. The name of the site and its corresponding event feeds would be updated to reflect this.

Title graphics and a site icon were defined. An image of a local dancer would be used on each page, bringing the community into the site from the top on down.

Look and Feel

Colors used on the existing site were brightened, but the feel of the Middle East and femininity were kept. Harmony with the colors in the title were defined. Consideration for advertising from the community was integrated into the design.
