Site Improvement
“Cori did a terrific job with her major design overhaul on my Website "Belly Dance New England." Her design expertise and user experience background were invaluable - the site is easier to navigate and use, and the new design really pulls everything together and gives a more consistent experience for site visitors. And I'm getting great results - increases not only in daily hits, but in the number of site visits, as well.” September 2, 2009
Sometimes an existing site just needs a little facelift. Some customers may call it an overhaul.
Example 1
I sat down with this customer for an initial consultation to discuss what their needs and issues were with the site. I then went back and did an analysis on the usability of the site. I combined the summary of our discussion and the results of my assessment in a Microsoft Word Document which was used as a basis for an agreement for the terms of the content of work.
Because the site was live, urgent fixes were applied immediately, while the new design was delivered to a "secret directory" for the client to approve. When the site was complete and approved, the files were copied up to the actual website and the whole world could see the new design and improvements.

Sometimes a customer is not interested in dealing with the technical. Everything is filed in physical folders and is newspaper clippings and printed on flyers. Perhaps your site is 10 years old and that is the only element of your career you have in the electronic world. I can work with that, too. We took and existing site, and with a CD of an airing of a performance on TV, some handwritten notes, and the idea of who the client was and what he did, we came up with a beautiful site that represented the Renaissance portfolio of his talents for hire. He needed a site to point people to when he said he did shows, tours, and courses, and now he could have the www to point them to as the follow up. Iterations were presented on a laptop, and installments of information were collected on paper to build a site that represented the man.
